Specialized Image Restoration:

Zzyzx Works can repair tears, cracks, fading, soil or other damagedesigned for images which have cracks and tears or heavy soil or stains across most of the photograph.  When restoring old prints, Zzyzx Works is able to clean up dust, scratches, cracks and tears from your photographs, however we can not "create" details where no detail exists. If the image has pieces missing we can often use an image composite to replace the missing area. Each photograph will have to be evaluated with respect to the best method possible in the full restoration process.

If the image requires extensive repairs across subjects face, or areas of high detail, please see our Acute Image Repair and Restoration service below.

Acute Image Repair and Restoration:

Acute Image Repair and Restoration is designed for those photos which require extensive repair across subjects faces and/or areas of high detail. Areas of intricate detail and faces are the most time consuming areas of a photo to restore. If your photograph has a tear, crack, mold, fading or soil across the face it will require a facial restoration. An Acute Image Repair and Restoration service will be required to fix your photograph.

Please keep in mind that while Zzyzx Works can clean up dust, scratches, cracks and tears from your photographs, we can not "create" details where no detail exists. For example, if your subject's photo is completely missing an eye, nose or mouth due to damage, we would require another photo of your subject suitable for image composite in order to make a proper repair.

Cracks and small blemishes in your subjects face however, in most cases, can be repaired  without a secondary photo. The removal of standard dust and small artifacts from a face does NOT require this service. This is for those facial image areas which require REPAIR, such as that which is caused by a tear, crack or large soil or stain mark.
